Research

The Lu Lab at NYU Grossman School of Medicine investigates the molecular mechanisms with which epidermal stem cells utilize during normal development and wound repair, using sweat gland as a model. We work extensively to understand the fundamental principles of how normal development and repair processes could be exploited or altered by the stem cells in order to regenerate and to respond to environmental stimuli.

Our goal is to acquire knowledge using the animal models and translate into human skin regeneration and disease therapeutics in order to benefit patients in need.
