Joy Barrett is a Barnard College of Columbia University 2020 graduate with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. As an undergraduate and for her senior thesis she researched the presence of selective constraint on silent substitutions in chloroplast genes of flowering plants. Joy is delighted at the opportunity to be a part of the Lu lab family and looks forward to making contributions that deepen the current understanding of hidradenitis suppurativa. Outside of the lab, Joy loves spending time outdoors reading and curating music playlists.
